Designed to Stimulate Reflection and Engagement Among Passersby
Public art exhibition: Lyngsies Plads
This project, Change, focuses on subtle shifts within our lives. As the project creator, I developed and conceptualized this exhibition with the aim of bringing more art into the public spaces of Bispebjerg and Nordvest. Eight local artists showcasing a diverse range of artworks – painting, photography, sculpture, music, and performance – creating a dynamic and engaging experience for the community.
Executed throughout June 2025 at Lygten St. and Lyngsies Plads. near Nørrebro Station, this project addressed the challenge of introducing a dynamic artistic intervention within a high-traffic public space, a temporary, impactful experience designed to stimulate reflection and engagement among passersby, directly contributing to a sense of cultural enrichment within the Bispebjerg and Nordvest neighborhoods.
The project’s core value lies in subtly shifting the perception of this location, offering a brief respite from the daily routine and fostering a sense of cultural discovery. Leveraging the inherent footfall of a major transit hub, we engaged a broad audience, fostering positive association and demonstrating a commitment to cultural enrichment.
Through a carefully crafted visual identity and storytelling, and recognizing that compelling art needs to be integrated into the flow of the space, I engineered a strategic shift, culminating in a project that generates genuine community engagement and delivers a tangible return on investment through increased visibility and a lasting connection with those who pass through.
The project is supported by Lygten St. Områdefornyelsen, Bispebjergbakke, Københavns Kommune, and Bispebjerg Lokaludvalg.
